Steve Doherty
Writer/ Executive Producer
Born and raised in New Orleans, Stephen worked as a Respiratory Therapist in the area for 39 years before having to retire in 2012 due to a diagnosis of Lyme disease.
Married to his wife, Marlena, for 47 years, Stephen delved into another love, screenwriting, following retirement.
It was during his screenwriting experience that he met Jessica and Lance Lasiter, through a number of divine circumstances. Learning more about their courageous and faith-filled journey and discovering that Jessica struggled with neurological Lyme disease, Stephen knew that God was asking him to tell their story. Their story is one of trials, but also one of devotion, love and miracles in the midst of the darkest of hours. In spite of her struggle with a debilitating disease, Jessica’s goal is to help and encourage others.
Throughout the past three years, as Stephen worked on the screenplay HOLD ME and met with Jessica and Lance on a weekly basis, he realized the blessing and honor of knowing such a couple, completely devoted to God and to each other.
